Source code available. Zero lock-in.
Kazam was born to solve a real problem: making logistics and intralogistics automation truly flexible, transparent and sustainable over time. Code you can inspect and a business model built on value — not on constraints.
Six concrete advantages, no slogans
Full transparency
The sources are available to customers and partners under a non-disclosure agreement. Which means that before you put your warehouse in the hands of a piece of software, your own engineers — or whoever supports you — can read the code: how stock is calculated, what happens when a task fails, where the data ends up. It is not a promise of quality; it is the ability to check it.
No vendor lock-in
The database is yours and it sits where you decide, on-premise or in the cloud. The exchange formats with your ERP are agreed, not buried inside a connector. If you change partner, infrastructure or ERP, what you have built stays with you: that is the difference between choosing a supplier and marrying one.
Fast adaptability
Every warehouse has something that falls outside the standard: an unusual receiving flow, a label a customer insists on in a particular format, a ten-year-old PLC that has to talk to the rest. Those things get done when you need them, not when they reach someone else's roadmap — which is why response time matters more than the length of a feature list.
Quality over time
People who read code find things the people who wrote it stopped seeing. Customers and partners report defects and suggest improvements, and the fixes come back to everyone in the next release. It is a slow but cumulative advantage: the more real installations pass through the product, the fewer edge cases are left uncovered.
Verifiable security
Security is verified, not declared. The code can be inspected by those who adopt it, so an audit can look at how authentication, permissions and data access are actually handled instead of trusting a datasheet. Fixes are distributed without waiting for the release window of a vendor you have never met.
TCO under control
No charge per named user or device merely on the register, on any of the routes by which you can take Kazam. In a warehouse that is exactly where the arithmetic breaks: the plan follows simultaneous use rather than the number of registered operators, and in the cloud you pay per warehouse rather than per registered person (the figures). The investment goes where it actually matters — analysis, go-live, evolution — and services are paid for when you use them.
Free where it counts. Paid when it adds value.
Kazam is distributed as free & source-available software. Alongside the open core, we offer optional professional services for those who want to accelerate and safeguard value over time.

For integrators and system providers
Kazam is built for those who create solutions: modular ecosystem, clean APIs, industrial connectors, extensible architecture. You can:
- integrate hardware and automation (WCS, AGV, sensors)
- add custom logic without unmanageable forks
- offer a competitive time-to-market with full ownership of the project
- adopt a transparent commercial model (royalty/fee)
For end-user companies
Operational reliability with the flexibility of source-available:
- stable flows, traceability, clear KPIs
- scalability from a single warehouse to multi-site networks
- ERP/TMS/BI/PLC interoperability
- requests and reports that reach the development team from the product itself
How your requests reach us
For Kazam WMS there is no public repository to open a pull request against. The exception is the machine layer, Sun Tech WCS, which is open source and accepts issues and pull requests on GitHub. For Kazam the channel is inside the product: from the portal header you report a problem — with its severity — or propose a feature, and the report reaches the work system of the team that develops Kazam. Fixes reach everyone in the next release.
